Welcome to the Helderberg Pirates Baseball Club, where the love of baseball and vibrant community spirit meet.
The Helderberg Pirates Baseball Club is an amateur baseball club situated at Radloff Park Somerset West. The Helderberg Pirates Baseball ‘family’ is dedicated to the training of adults and children in the sport of baseball within the Helderberg District. Helderberg Pirates was originally started in 1952 and was original known as Strand / Somerset West Baseball Club. The club originally operated from the ‘Old Rugby Club’ after which it moved to the Charles Morkel stadium in Strand. Then after a short stint at the old De Beers AFC soccer fields, the club eventually found its own home at Radloff Park in 1995. Since moving to the new grounds a clubhouse with change-rooms, hot showers, events hall, batting cages and a licenced bar has been established while dugouts (where player’s sit during games) and a scorers box have also been constructed on the main field.
At our club, baseball is more than just a game – it’s a community. We provide a welcoming environment where players of all ages and skill levels can learn, grow, and thrive both on and off the field. Our dedicated coaches focus on building strong fundamentals while encouraging teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
